Mothers Day: 2017

PROJECT GOAL

Two month’s after burying my father in 2017, family members grieved in their own way and aimed to encourage each other and keep in touch more. Mothers day would be very different that year for mom, as she and my dad would’ve celebrated 57 years just the week before. The idea came to me while trying to figure what would be a great gift that could both encourage and make my mother laugh during this grieving period.

OUTCOME

I sourced Newspaperclub.com to produce 10 digital broadsheet newsprint’s that contained stories from my three immediate older siblings and myself, sharing funny stories and memories of our respective younger years with mom accompanied by old pictures, all presented in classic newsprint fashion.

She was thrilled to say the least, and as long as she’s still with us, I don’t think any other mothers day will have as much impact as it did in 2017 with this special gift of gratitude, to an amazing and selfless woman.
